Out to lunch in Caras Park

In Missoula mid-week during the summer? You simply have to schedule time on Wednesday to enjoy one of Missoula’s favorite and longest running outdoor events. Every Wednesday in June, July, and August from 11 am – 2 pm, Caras Park is home to Out to Lunch. This weekly event serves up tasty fare from over 20 varied local food vendors to hungry patrons looking to enjoy some of the city’s most popular dishes in a beautiful riverfront setting.

Locals and visitors alike flock to Out to Lunch to tantalize their taste buds and take in the weekly live music performances offered at the park. From bluegrass to jazz, every week features a different local performer. The vibrant atmosphere is a great place to meet up with friends, dance along to a song, and explore everything from shish-kabobs to sandwiches made Missoula-style.

Family with you? Out to Lunch is a family-friendly event that also features a different kid-friendly activity each week. Local organizations sponsor events such as gymnastics, art and music classes, and obstacle courses. Dogs are not allowed under the pavilion due to health code regulations, but are welcome on the grassy areas of the park with a leash. This event is truly one for the whole family to come out and enjoy.

Paid parking for Out to Lunch is available at Caras Park, at meters on downtown streets, and in the downtown parking garages. All are located within a convenient walking distance to the event. The Mountain Line public transit system also offers free bus and trolley rides from the downtown Lewis and Clark Transfer Center, the Dornblaser Field Park and Ride lot, and from multiple stops along Higgins Avenue.
